The Secure Jobs Better Pay Act (2022) made a number of significant changes to the enterprise bargaining and enterprise agreement approval processes. The changes also placed an increased focus on our role in facilitating bargaining.
These changes commenced on 6 June 2023.
In October 2023, we started a Bargaining Discovery Research Project to better understand our users’ needs.
We engaged Pivot Management Consulting to undertake qualitative research into enterprise bargaining and agreement-making. The research delved into the perceptions, knowledge and information needs of relatively inexperienced employer and employee bargaining representatives.
The report made 6 key findings and recommendations to improve support for our users who are bargaining for enterprise agreements.
Over the last 18 months, we have allocated additional resources and begun significant initiatives to address our increased focus on bargaining and agreement-making.
