If you are taking part in person
If you are unwell, you should phone or email the Commission Member’s Associate. Their contact details are in the information we sent you – the ‘notice of listing’. The Member may decide to hold your conference or hearing by phone or video, or adjourn the matter.
Otherwise, on the morning of your conference or hearing you should check what room you are in.
Plan to arrive with plenty of time to find your room.
We do not publish the details of all cases on our website. When you arrive, you may either need to:
- find your room using a hearing screen in the foyer
- ask our registry staff to help you.
If you must attend by phone or video
Your notice of listing will give you instructions about how to attend by phone or video. Contact the Member’s Associate if you are unsure what to do.
On the day, make sure you:
- charge your devices
- choose a quiet place to join in
- have a good phone signal
- check that the audio and video on your computer is working.
What to do if you are late on the day
Make sure you have the contact details of the Member’s Associate. They are the best person to contact if something happens and you are late on the day. You can contact us if you don’t have these details.
What if I don’t attend the conference or hearing?
It is in the interests of the parties to comply with the requirement or direction to attend. If you cannot attend because something has happened, please contact us as soon as possible to tell us what has happened. The determinative conference or hearing may be re-scheduled if the Commission considers that there are substantial reasons for doing so.
If you simply ignore the listing, you should be aware that the Commission can make a decision on the case without hearing your side of the story.
