About the NECA

Date of registration: 2 December 1958
Previously known as The National Electrical Contractors Association, a decision issued on 7 February 2020 ([2020] FWC 663) changed the name to the National Electrical and Communications Association.
The organisation has 7 Branches. Each Branch is a reporting unit for the purposes of financial reporting and is therefore required to lodge an annual financial report.
The supreme governing authority of the organisation is vested in the National Council, which consists of the Branch representatives elected by and from the Branch Councils.
The organisation is also governed by a National Executive and the Branches are governed by Branch Councils.
All Secretary positions across the organisation are elected for a term of 4 years. The Australian Electorial Commission conducts the elections for all office positions in the organisation.
